Plenna’s new site goes live on 26 August 2025

Plenna seeks to inform and help equip individuals to accept, consider and proactively plan for dying and death, whether for themselves or their loved ones and whatever their situation or age.

The Die Wise Questionnaire is a key additional feature, which allows users to rapidly assess the degree to which they are prepared for death and dying.

Plenna is non-profit, non-political and secular, and its material is free with no obligation. David Sunderland, Chair of the organization, is enthusiastic about its potential:

“People are frequently unwilling to engage with death and dying, which can create unnecessary suffering.  With its unique international and multilingual approach, it is hoped that Plenna will contribute, modestly and in part, to address the dearth of internationally comparable data on the issue.  The organization seeks to inform and connect people and initiatives for public benefit.  We encourage individuals and other organizations to promote Plenna’s questionnaire and materials.”

Apart from professional web design by Estúdio Teca, seed funded by Swiss Yearly Meeting (Quakers), development of the organization has been done entirely by volunteers.  This includes a team validating translations of Plenna’s materials in other languages, with the aim of bringing these online over the next few months in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.  As the site is being refined and rolled out, feedback is appreciated.

Plenna’s official launch webinar, Die Well, Live Fully: A Global Conversation, will take place at 14h00 CET on Wedneday 24 September 2025 – see more details and sign up.

Plenna’s rationale and Theory of Change is elaborated on its FAQ page.  Research and development for the organization took nearly two years: can you spare three minutes to do the Die Wise Questionnaire at www.plenna.org – and then encourage others you love and like to do the same?
